5 months ago to this date, my husband and I met with fitness and nutrition coach Karine. My husband, reaching the dreadful 100kg mark, felt he could not lose weight on his own and needed extra help to motivate him. I had a few extra kilos myself and decided to go along with the Momentum diet recommended by Karine, to support him. I must admit we are just amazed with the results ; my husband has lost 16 kg and I lost 2-3 clothes size (down from a 40 or 42 European size to a delightful 36).
Why was this diet successful ? A few reasons : first of all, you lose weight very fast during the 27-day long diet, which is encouraging. Then, the fact that both of us were doing it at the same time helped, as we were supporting each other (especially during dinner time, in front of our minimalist meals : we had to laugh about it). But what really helped was Karine’s constant attention to our well-being and her guidance : her approach to my husband and me was completely different. She could really understand his busy professional lifestyle (including lack of time to exercise, indulgent business meals or tempting airlines lounges), while she could see that I needed more a soft touch and moral support to get through it.
Today, we are both more mindful about what we eat and drink (no more cheap wine on a regular basis : only the best crus will do occasionally) and we exercise diligently (my husband signed up for a 10km run this coming December and I started to take swimming lessons). My husband continues training with Karine once a week : for him a good way to let off the stress of the week by working out a good sweat. While having a thin waistline is not a goal in itself, he and I enjoy our new bodies and our new healthy lifestyle, which is now so easy to maintain now that we have understood the mechanisms behind it. Hence an enormous thankful hug to Karine : we could not have done it without you.
